Would you like to know more about the healthcare contribution? Or about the healthcare benefit?

How much healthcare contribution do I pay?

This depends on your situation. Read more on What is a healthcare contribution?

I want to go to work or start my own business. What about my health insurance?

Would you like to work as an employed person or start your own business (e.g. a B&B) in your country of residence or the Netherlands? Then you are obligated to report this to us, even if you also receive a pension or benefit. We look at the consequences for your treaty entitlement and health insurance. Read more about the consequences for your social insurance on the website of the SVB.

Can I enter into a payment arrangement?

Yes, you can. Have you received an annual statement and do you have difficulty making the payment all at once? If so, you can enter - under certain conditions - into a payment arrangement with us.

Can I apply for a healthcare benefit?

Healthcare benefit is a contribution to the costs of your healthcare contribution. Whether you receive a healthcare benefit depends on your income and that of your partner. You apply for a healthcare benefit from the Tax Administration in the Netherlands. The Tax Administration also takes into account the country of residence factor. If you live in a country with a low country of residence factor, you are unlikely to be entitled to a healthcare benefit.

See the website of the Tax Administration (Belastingdienst.nl) for the conditions and more information.

Co-insured children aged 18 and over can apply for a healthcare benefit independently.
