How do I deregister family members?

If one of your family members starts working or moves house, the health insurance situation will also change. Your family member will then take out their own health insurance, and will usually no longer be insured through the CAK. This is decided by the health insurer in the country your family member lives in. Therefore, please inform the health insurer in the country of residence of any changes in your family situation as soon as possible.

Good to know

  • We cannot stop the health insurance and contribution until we have confirmation from the health insurer in the country of residence.
  • The health insurance and the healthcare contribution you pay for your family member will stop as of the date that the health insurer gives us.

Deregistering a family member: how it works

  1. Contact the designated health insurer in your family member’s country of residence. Inform them about the change.
  2. The health insurer will check all the details and will inform us when the health insurance through the CAK should stop.
  3. We will send you a letter confirming the end date and an adjusted invoice or annual statement.

Tip

Has one of your family members died? We are very sorry for your loss. Find out how we can help you with the settlement.
