Are you planning to emigrate to Turkey or are you already living there? And will you be covered by health insurance through the CAK? This page provides information about your health insurance in Turkey.
Health insurer/agency
After registering with the CAK, you will receive an 121 form. Submit this form to the closest office of the Turkish social security institution, Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu (SGK).
Reimbursements
In Turkey
- Basic package: includes GP, hospital, and medication.
- Please note: the healthcare provider must have a contract with the SGK.

In the Netherlands and other countries
You are not entitled to reimbursement for healthcare in the Netherlands or other countries. Therefore, take out travel or supplementary health insurance.
What do you pay?
- A healthcare contribution to the CAK . Calculate your treaty contribution with the CAK - Healthcare Contribution Calculator (in Dutch). We deduct this contribution monthly from your pension(s) or benefits.
- A personal contribution for certain medical care and medication in Turkey.
We compile this information with care. However, the rules are complex and change from time to time. Therefore, always check with the authorities in Morocco to find out which rules apply to you.
Details
- Are you a pensioner or receiving benefits? Then you are not required to arrange your health insurance through the CAK. You can also take out your own (private) health insurance in Turkey.
- Your family members (partner, children) without their own income who live in Turkey are eligible for co-insurance. The SGK must approve this.
