Do you have health insurance through the CAK? And do you live in an EU/EEA Member State, Switzerland or the United Kingdom? Then you are also insured in the Netherlands.

Do your family members live in an EU/EEA Member State, Switzerland or the United Kingdom? Then they are also insured in the Netherlands. This covers all the healthcare included in the basic package.

Healthcare and reimbursement

With the EHIC from the CAK, you and/or your family members are entitled to reimbursed care in the Netherlands, the other EU/EEA Member States, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.

Healthcare contribution

You pay a healthcare contribution for basic healthcare in the country where you live. And if you live in an EU/EEA Member State, Switzerland or the United Kingdom, you are also insured for basic healthcare in the Netherlands and medically necessary care in a number of European countries.

Partner with little or no income

A special tax credit is available if your partner earns no or very little income. In some cases we apply this tax credit automatically, while in other cases you will need to apply for it.
